Family Health Center (FHC) RentReady Program
In 2019, the FHC RentReady program was established to support those with at least 6 months of recovery who live in Clark or Wood Counties and are looking for long-term housing.
The FHC RentReady Program:
- Provides funds for security deposit and first month’s rent
- Provides three-month rent guarantee for participating landlords if a tenant defaults on lease or is evicted for cause
- Supports tenants securing essential household items
- Provides tenant connections to services in the community
Program Participants:
- Successfully complete renter and budgeting education provided by the UW-Madison, Division of Extension Rent Smart program
- Create a portfolio to share with landlord prior to leasing
- Develop a recovery wellness plan
- Establish relationship with a peer support professional
- Agree to accountability expectations for program
- Understand the tenant is responsible for services outside of the lease (e.g., utilities, internet, etc.)
