FHC RentReady

In 2019, the FHC RentReady program was established to support those with at least 6 months of recovery who live in Clark or Wood Counties and are looking for long-term housing.

The FHC RentReady Program:

  • Provides funds for security deposit and first month’s rent
  • Provides three-month rent guarantee for participating landlords if a tenant defaults on lease or is evicted for cause
  • Supports tenants securing essential household items
  • Provides tenant connections to services in the community

Program Participants:

  • Successfully complete renter and budgeting education provided by the UW-Madison, Division of Extension Rent Smart program
  • Create a portfolio to share with landlord prior to leasing
  • Develop a recovery wellness plan
  • Establish relationship with a peer support professional
  • Agree to accountability expectations for program
  • Understand the tenant is responsible for services outside of the lease (e.g., utilities, internet, etc.)
